William Shakespeare's classic "A Midsummer Night's Dream" begins Rough Hewn's 2008 season and sees the directorial debut of company member Hayley Schumann-Mitchell. Setting A Midsummer Night's Dream as industrial burlesque, Hayley sees the lovers' journey into the woods as sexual awakening, with all its fears, its jealousies, its pettiness, its often cruel treatment of women, its potential menace, its joys and ultimately, the reconciling rightness
of love.
