2011 SEASON

Due to unfortunate circumstances, Straight Laced, written and directed by Courtney Farrow will not be produced in 2011. It is hoped that Courtney will be able to mount the production in a later season.

Project One: Dogg's Hamlet and Cahoot's Macbeth by Tom Stoppard, directed by Louise Harding in The Star of the Sea Theatre, 7.30 pm Thursday - Saturday 17th - 26th March.

Project Two: William Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, directed by Katie Johnson, The Star of the Sea Theatre, 7.30 pm Thursday - Saturday, 18th - 27th August.

Project Three: A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, directed by Geoff Cartwright, Star of the Sea Theatre, 7.30 pm Thursday - Sat, 27th October - 5th November.

AUDITIONS

From time to time, Rough Hewn may call for auditions for specific projects. Anyone interested in being put into our files for consideration, please advise us by emailing to info@roughhewntheatretroupe.com. Otherwise, please keep an eye on the website for announcements about particular projects.

PLAYWRITING COMPETITION

Details will follow soon of Rough Hewn’s playwriting competition. The company seeks submissions from playwrights of any standing. It offers a six performance, non-professional production by The Rough Hewn Theatre Troupe of the winning work as the prize. Dates, details and rules of the competition are being finalised.

ALUMNI NEWS

Former Rough Hewn actors are working successfully in their second year of study at Drama schools around the world: David Halgren at The Actors Centre Academy in Sydney, Christian Grant and Tom Heath at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Alana Kaye at the Italia Conti School in London and Josh Anderson at NIDA in Sydney.
